Touch of an Angel is a nonprofit organization that provides basic necessities to newborn babies in Zambia born to underprivileged mothers. The goal of the organization is to provide newborn babies with essential items needed after birth such as receiving blanket, clothing, hat, socks, mittens and other items. These items are essential to keep the baby warm as they adjust to their new environment, as babies can’t regulate their body temperature as effectively as adults can. These small items can help ensure that the baby’s first hours or days to reduce infant mortality rate.
